Talking about money makes you more money, how to go OOO as a multihyphenate + more

One of the most inspiring aspects of the BCM community has been the number of times a conversation about pricing or money leads to more money in a member’s bank account.

One of the most inspiring aspects of the BCM community has been the number of times a conversation about pricing or money leads to more money in a member’s bank account.

Sometimes it’s because Coach Ryan encourages the member to increase their fee. Other times, it’s a fellow member openly sharing their numbers, how much they charge, and how they structure their work and fees.

It almost always goes like this:

"I charge $X for Y"

"I charge $2X for Y! You should ask for more"

Asks for more.

Client doesn't bat an eye 🤑

Within the walls of the BCM private Discord server, we don’t gatekeep intel about money, revenue, and pricing. Members share openly what they charge and what their goals are.

It’s not only an incredible breath of fresh air, it’s also the golden ticket to making more money, whether it be in your side projects or even your 9-5.

The data backs this up.

As pay transparency laws become the norm in many cities and states, researchers are documenting the effects of this transparency: pay transparency is reducing pay inequities across gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and other dimensions.

Talking about money in trusted communities puts power in the hands of the members of those communities, and I love seeing this in action in BCM.

The “I asked for the scary number and they still said yes” messages just never, ever get old ❤️

As a reminder, we’re currently accepting applications for new members - spots are limited, apply by June 30.

MUST FOLLOWS

Multihyphenates I absolutely love following.

👑 Arit - became a software engineer at 38 as a mom of 2, and now she’s also building a community of early-career developers. Arit is serious multihyphenate goals, and also a BCM member we love having in the community.

👩🏻‍💻 Sarah Ing - a favorite follow on LinkedIn, Sarah specializes in working with women in tech. I find her posts incredibly relatable, while somehow always infused with a solid amount of sunshine and good feels.

😇 Positive Call - sometimes you need a mildly cheesy quote to recenter yourself or remind yourself of what’s important. For that, this is my favorite twitter/X account. I love the quick jolt of inspiration, and I don’t think there’s another account I bookmark as often.
